We are looking for a Senior Java Engineer to build scalable, resilient and near real-time banking services in an international Agile environment.

Develop scalable backend services and APIs using Java, Kotlin and Spring.
Build and improve near real-time banking processes that serve millions of end users across digital channels.
Work on the backend services that support modern web applications and customer-facing journeys.
Design and integrate event-driven solutions using Kafka and related messaging patterns.
Own your work end to end: refine, code, test, automate, deploy and support it in production.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated quality checks for reliable releases.
Deploy and operate services across cloud and on-premise environments using Azure, OpenShift and Kubernetes.
Solve technical and functional challenges, balancing delivery speed, code quality, resilience and maintainability.
Collaborate with engineers, business stakeholders and other disciplines in international Agile squads.
Use AI-assisted development practices to speed up implementation, testing and documentation while keeping engineering quality high.

5+ years of hands-on experience in backend software development.
Strong Java development skills and practical experience with Kotlin.
Hands-on experience with Spring and Maven.
Experience with Kafka and event-driven or near real-time architectures.
Experience with Azure and cloud-native application delivery.
Experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift.
Good understanding of automated testing, CI/CD, continuous delivery and deployment pipelines.
Hands-on experience with engineering quality and security tooling such as Azure DevOps, SonarQube and Fortify.
DevOps mindset: able to refine, code, test, deploy and take ownership of services in production.
Strong analytical skills and a good conceptual and architectural understanding of distributed backend systems.
Experience with AI-assisted development workflows, including GitHub Copilot or similar LLM-based coding tools.
Strong prompt-engineering skills for generating and improving code, tests and technical documentation with AI tools.
Ability to use AI-enhanced coding practices to maintain development flow and improve engineering productivity.
Experience with Prisma or comparable tooling used in the delivery environment.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Good command of English (written and spoken)
Comfortable working in multidisciplinary, international Agile teams.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to discuss solutions with business colleagues.
Self-motivated, curious and interested in recent software engineering and technology trends.
Ability to challenge ideas constructively and act as a technical sparring partner for both engineering and business stakeholders.
Focus on clean implementation, pragmatic problem solving and continuous improvement.

Experience building high-volume or customer-facing banking and financial services.
Experience supporting systems that require high availability, resilience and near real-time data processing.
Experience using pair-coding with LLMs or similar AI-first / “vibe coding” workflows in a professional engineering environment.
