We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer to ensure reliable banking reporting, billing and payment-fee services through strong automation, integration testing and quality ownership.
Responsibilities/Activities
- Own QA activities for services developed and maintained within an Agile banking squad.
- Clarify requirements with the squad and translate them into test plans, estimates and high-coverage test scenarios.
- Design, write, execute, maintain and refactor manual and automated test cases.
- Develop and maintain automated tests and automation frameworks, mainly using Java-based technologies.
- Test API, web and service-to-service integrations, including synchronous and asynchronous communication flows.
- Perform regression testing using Cucumber, Selenium and/or Playwright, Rest Assured, Kafka/MQ integrations and manual testing where appropriate.
- Validate and certify features before release and provide clear quality and risk assessments to stakeholders.
- Investigate defects, analyse logs, perform root-cause analysis and track issues through resolution.
- Conduct peer reviews for test cases, test scenarios and automation scripts.
- Research, recommend and implement QA tools that increase automation coverage and testing efficiency.
- Maintain clear documentation and traceability for test cases, test execution and results.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, cross-team collaboration and feature demonstrations.
Requirements
Technical
- At least 5 years of Quality Assurance experience, with hands-on test automation responsibilities.
- Strong experience with Java for automated testing and a good understanding of OOP concepts.
- Hands-on API and web testing experience.
- Experience with Cucumber and automated regression testing.
- Experience with Selenium and/or Playwright for UI automation.
- Experience with Rest Assured for API test automation.
- Working knowledge of Spring / Spring Boot, JUnit and Maven in test automation environments.
- Applied experience with inter-service communication mechanisms such as HTTP/HTTPS, message queues and event streaming.
- Experience testing or troubleshooting Kafka and/or MQ-based integrations.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, including log investigation and root-cause analysis.
- Good test case design, test planning and test management skills.
- Ability to develop, maintain and extend automation frameworks and automated test coverage.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

- Good understanding of end-to-end software delivery in Agile/Scrum environments.
Nice to have requirements
- Hands-on TypeScript experience for Playwright-based automation.
- Experience working in banking, payments, reporting, billing or fee-processing systems.
- Experience assessing release readiness and presenting feature demonstrations to internal customers or cross-team stakeholders.
- ISTQB certification
