We are looking for Junior DevOps Engineers to support critical ETL platforms for our banking client, growing hands-on skills in Linux, Oracle, monitoring and automation.
Responsibilities/Activities

Work side by side with a senior DataStage engineer to support IBM DataStage services and ETL operations, including job monitoring, common failure investigation, log collection and documented recovery steps

Help with releases, deployments, patching and maintenance, then validate services and ETL jobs after changes are completed

Monitor production and non-production Data Lake and Data Warehouse services, using dashboards and alerts to spot availability, capacity or performance issues and escalate them quickly

Handle day-to-day incidents with guidance: triage issues, collect diagnostic evidence, run approved recovery procedures, communicate progress and support root-cause analysis

Assist with Red Hat Enterprise Linux operational work such as service checks, log review, filesystem and resource monitoring, certificate tracking and post-maintenance validation

Perform approved basic Oracle operations, including health and alert checks, tablespace monitoring, user/schema administration, basic SQL investigations, backup-status checks and assisted Data Pump schema refreshes

Escalate advanced database work such as complex performance tuning, RMAN operations, AWR interpretation and recovery activities to senior DBAs with clear evidence and context

Create and improve small Shell scripts and, where useful, Python automations; contribute reviewed changes to GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps pipelines

Keep Grafana monitoring, runbooks, recovery procedures and support documentation accurate, and contribute to ServiceNow Incident, Problem and Change Management plus audit, risk and security activities
Requirements
Technical
-
1-3 years of total professional experience
-
At least 1 year of relevant hands-on experience in DevOps, platform/production operations, IBM DataStage or a comparable ETL environment

Basic practical knowledge of IBM DataStage or another ETL platform, including ETL jobs, monitoring and common operational troubleshooting

Basic Linux command-line skills and motivation to build stronger operational Linux knowledge; Red Hat Enterprise Linux exposure is useful

Basic Shell scripting skills and an interest in making recurring operational tasks safer and more automated

Foundational SQL and relational-database knowledge, with the ability to carry out simple investigations and understand common database operational concepts

Basic understanding of monitoring, incident handling, version control and CI/CD concepts
- Comfort following runbooks, change controls, review/approval steps and documented recovery procedures in production environments
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.

- Good oral and written communication skills (English and Romanian)
- Structured troubleshooting mindset with strong attention to detail
- Clear communication when documenting incidents, changes, technical findings and outcomes
- Willingness to learn from a senior engineer, ask for help when needed and gradually take on more operational responsibility
- Reliable and disciplined approach to production support, security, audit and compliance procedures

Nice to have requirements
- Exposure to Oracle Database 19c, 21c or 23c, Oracle Exadata, database monitoring, user/schema administration or Data Pump
