DevOps Engineer, 4+ years experience

General

We are looking for DevOps Engineers to work for our client, a multinational bank in Romania. As DevOps Engineer you need to have knowledge on topics like operating systems, disk management, databases, networking, performance, web sites, load balancing, security, backups, disaster recovery, project management, and configuration management. As part of the technical team you are expected to contribute to this effort. A significant impact can be seen in documentation, best practices and process maturity.

Responsibilities/Activities

• Actively participating in transforming the design, architecture and deployment mechanism for the existing applications in order to have them thrive in a private cloud environment
• Monitor the Solution Selling Application suite, document and analyse problems
• Lead and participate in efforts to develop and implement processes for application and system monitoring
• Work closely with application development teams and vendors to tune and troubleshoot applications
• Maintain system documentation
• Configure environments for the application suite
• Collaborate with network, OS and other DevOps teams to ensure proper integration of the environment(s)
• Develop and maintain the reporting and dashboard infrastructure for the organization
• Enable best practices
• Maintain SLA, System Availability, Capacity management, and Performance KPI

Requirements

Technical

• At least 4 years of experience in a similar position and a good understanding of DevOps practices
• Expert knowledge with Linux based systems but not a stranger of the Microsoft ecosystem – the current tech stack is Microsoft based
• Proven hand-on experience with container engines (Docker, CRI-O)
• Excellent understanding of a Kubernetes based container orchestration system (OpenShift)
• Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus)
• Excellent technical documentation affinity
• Maximum comfort in at least one scripting language
• You cannot imagine working without Git
• You spend a lot of time interacting with tools using a CLI but also understand the value of visual interactions
• Good knowledge and demonstrated troubleshooting abilities on connectivity issues due to firewall, load balancer, proxy and others

Education

• University degree in Computer Science or other related fields preferred

Others

• Good level of English, verbal & written
• Ability to effectively interface with technical and nontechnical staff at all organizational levels
• Excellent problem solving/analytical skills and knowledge of analytical tools
• Polite persistence is a must and it pays off

Nice to have requirements

• Knowledge of Web Services and Services Oriented Architecture is desirable
• Knowledge of WebServers configuration and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of  LoadBalancers, Nginx
• Previous interaction with .NET
